The Process
My “painter’s voice” is the vigorous style of a Pennsylvania Impressionist and my paintings are textural as I capture the preciousness of the scene – light, fluidity and emotion. This reverence is multiplied many times because your Loved One becomes part of the painting in the literal sense. I’ve developed a process whereby the ash is gently mixed with the pigments to become part of the painting. Each stroke of each color is layered one after another to become your Loved Ones Art. I use the finest quality oil paint on medium texture, acid free 11in X 14in stretched canvas which, when complete, is presented in a 3 inch wide museum quality gilded frame of an appropriately simple design. A beautiful 1inch x 3 inch brass plate engraved with your personal message is also included. I encourage you to study the examples posted here – and if you have a scene or a moment in time that you’d like me to capture as your Loved Ones Art please contact me. The result will be a treasured memorial to, and of, your Loved One. Larger sizes and multiple paintings are available upon request. Click here for inquiries.
To commission your Loved Ones’ Art please follow these simple steps:
- Contact me via email, phone or post indicating your interest in scheduling a commission for your Loved Ones’ Art.
- Send a photo that you’d like me to use as the basis for your Loved Ones’ Art. This image can be a landscape or seascape of a favorite location. Use your imagination and creativity when taking this photo as it will be the signature image that will help me create your painting. Keep in mind that we are working together to capture the essence of your Loved One – not their image – so the result will not be a portrait. I encourage you to contact me with any questions or guidance.
- When I receive your photo I will contact you to confirm receipt and talk with you about your loved one and the painting we’ll be creating.
- You will receive a Collection Kit labeled with your unique commission identity (CommID) number. Use this kit to collect and ship your loved ones’ cremains. The kit includes:
• 1 sterile 2oz scoop for handling your loved ones’ cremains
• 1 sterile plastic bag in which to place the cremains
• 1 locking outer bag for shipment
• 1 prepaid, return postal container for shipment to me via USPostal Registered Mail.
• Illustrated, easy to follow instructions for collecting, packaging and mailing the cremains - When I receive the returned collection kit your commission is opened and the cremains are logged in with your CommID number in the Loved Ones Art database. Our database insures that commissions are individually prepared and completed. This process allows me to give full attention to your commission and no 2 commissions are open at one time. Any unused cremains will be returned to you in it’s original collection kit.
- I will notify you upon the completion of your painting, usually within 10-14 days. I will also ask for the paintings’ 3 line title text so that its engraved plaque can be created. Your painting is then placed in the drying rack for a minimum of 3 weeks.
- Your framed painting is carefully wrapped and prepared for shipment via US Postal registered mail and I will notify you upon dispatch.
